With Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, and Lewis Hamilton in the top-3 of the Canadian GP, the combined total of podium finishes for the three drivers reached 383 – a record in Formula 1.
The heavy podium formed by Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso at the Canadian GP, held last weekend, broke a record in Formula 1 and became the top-3 with the highest number of podiums in the history of the category. In total, the three drivers have finished among the top three in a race 383 times, surpassing this year’s Australian GP by ten podiums — which also featured the same three names in the celebration.
Continuously breaking records in Formula 1, Verstappen has reached 85 podiums in the category, all with Red Bull. Alonso, on the other hand, has amassed 104 podiums across Renault, McLaren, Ferrari, Alpine, and Aston Martin. Finally, Hamilton is the record holder in this aspect and has achieved an incredible 194 podiums since entering the category in 2007.
The second place goes to the 2023 Australian GP, which also had Verstappen, Hamilton, and Alonso — with the difference that the British driver finished second. In 2021, the Qatar GP brought together 336 podiums by combining the same three names.
Finally, the 2018 Hungarian GP featured different drivers in the then-record of 331 podiums in the same top-3 — a record that would only be broken three years later. As the winner of that race, Hamilton had 126 podiums at the time, compared to Sebastian Vettel’s 106 in second place and Kimi Räikkönen’s 99 in third place.
