Biography

Isack Hadjar was the final driver announced for the 2025 season following Red Bull’s dramatic winter reshuffle, which saw Liam Lawson step in for Sergio Perez and opened the door for the French-Algerian to join Racing Bulls.

Born in Paris, Hadjar built a strong foundation from karting, claiming wins in his first full single-seater season and securing podium finishes in his second. After mastering French F4, he progressed through Formula Regional European and the F3 Asian Series, before competing in both Formula Regional Asian and F3 in 2022, the same year he joined the Red Bull Junior Team.

A challenging start to F2 in 2023, with no victories and lingering questions about his future, did not deter Red Bull. They gave him F1 practice sessions with both AlphaTauri and the senior team in Mexico and Abu Dhabi. Returning to F2, Hadjar impressed with four wins and four more podiums, challenging new Sauber recruit Gabriel Bortoleto for the 2024 title – narrowly missing out after a dramatic stall at Yas Marina.

While a championship title eluded him in the junior categories, Hadjar’s raw pace and racecraft set him apart and made him the ideal teammate for Yuki Tsunoda. “He’s definitely a raw talent,” said Red Bull team principal Christian Horner. “He needs some polishing, but he has the speed.”

Now, all eyes are on whether the 19th driver promoted to F1 through Red Bull’s junior program can prove himself in the top tier and join the ranks of those who have forged long and successful careers.
