Franco Colapinto has quickly become one of the most intriguing young talents in Formula 1. Following a strong campaign in Formula 2, Colapinto made his first official F1 weekend appearance at the British Grand Prix, getting his initial taste of the FW46 during FP1. At the end of August, Williams announced that Colapinto would replace Logan Sargeant for the remainder of the season, giving the young driver an unexpected but fully deserved opportunity. Despite showcasing his talent, the arrival of Carlos Sainz for 2025 closed the door on a full-time Williams seat. Undeterred, Colapinto made a swift transition to Alpine as reserve driver — and his return to the grid came quicker than anticipated. From round seven onward, he stepped in for Jack Doohan in at least five Grands Prix, once again proving his readiness to compete at the highest level.
